California's free medical help and San Diego skyline disability

California’s free medical services are available for you if you have a mental or physical illness and you need treatment. Below, you will find a list of services that can help you treat your health conditions. In order to win SSDI and SSI benefits, you must have medical evidence. Make sure you find a good doctor. Then, visit your doctor on a monthly basis. Next, ask your doctor to support you in your claim for benefits.

For example, in order to win benefits, you will need evidence from a treating medical doctor. The medical evidence you provide should be about how your mental or physical condition prevents you from working.

The evidence that you need will be the medical opinion of your treating doctor. For mental illness, you will need the opinion of your doctor, psychologist, or other mental health professional. They will need to write a letter for you about how your mental issues keep you from working.

You will also need to obtain the progress notes of your doctor or counselor. Progress notes are the notes your doctor or counselor writes when you visit them. That evidence will be what the SSA reviews to see if they can pay you Social Security benefits.

Medical records are crucial to winning benefits, because they are evidence in your case. To learn more about the importance of medical records in your SSD case read here. It is important for you to find a supportive doctor to help you with your medical condition and your SSD case.

Our goal is to help you every step of the way and that includes filing your initial application in California. One of the most important things that comes with SSD and SSI benefits is health insurance. SSD benefits come with Medicare. However, Medicare benefits don’t start until after a 29 month waiting period. Find out more information about Medicare benefits here.

Healthcare benefits are important. Because once you win benefits you must continue to go to the doctor. Because the SSA can review your case and decide you no longer meet their rules. If they decide you can return to work, then they can take away your benefits.

If you hire us to represent you before the Social Security Administration, then we will help you appeal any SSA denials. Likewise, we will request a hearing for you. Find out more about your California Social Security hearing here.

One of the great things about living in California is that the state offers California state disability benefits.  These are the benefits you should apply for while you are waiting for your federal SSDI benefits. Short term benefits may also be available through your employer. If you have private short term insurance benefits, you should also apply for federal benefits through the SSA.

Cannon Disability Law helps hundreds of clients in California every year. Our clients live throughout California. For example, we represent many clients in Oakland, San Francisco, San Diego and other California cities. Our goal is to win ongoing monthly SSDI and SSI benefits for you. Also, we will try to win any of your past due disability benefits. In order for us to win your case, however, you must take advantage of California’s free medical health resources, because you need medical records in order to win.

If the SSA denies your claim, our California attorneys will represent you in a hearing before an SSA judge. Each large California city has their own hearing office. We will prepare you for your hearing, so that you know what questions you will be asked. Likewise, we will help you testify in court about your physical or mental condition. Also, we will go with you to your hearing. Learn about other cities we serve here.

If you can no longer work due to your physical or mental health, you need to replace your income and we can help you now. We can help you file your application for benefits online at Social Security’s website.

You do not need to try to win SSD benefits by yourself. Cannon Disability Law can help file your SSDI and SSI application. Also, we can help you appeal every SSA denial. That way, you can focus on your health. For example, our attorneys and staff can:

  • Send you the paperwork you need to become our client
  • Help you file your application for SSD and SSI benefits
  • Inform the SSA that they should automatically pay you benefits if your condition falls under the Compassionate Allowance Rules
  • Request reconsideration if you receive an initial denial from Disability Determination Services
  • Help you confirm your visit to a Consultative Examination
  • Request a Hearing with an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ)
  • Prepare you to be a good witness at your SSA hearing
  • Represent you at your hearing and question the vocational and medical witnesses
  • Read more about vocational experts here
  • Learn more about medical expert testimony here
  • Request review of a decision with the Appeals Council
  • Request review of an Appeals Council denial in Federal Court

At Cannon Disability, we are experts in winning SSDI and SSI benefits. For example, in the last 30 years, we have won over 20,000 SSDI and SSI cases for our clients. If you need help filing an application for benefits, contact our office. We can also help you appeal a denial from the SSA.  Additionally, if you do not have medical evidence, then you can find a free or low cost California doctor on our website.

If you contact our office for help with your application, then make sure you have some basic facts ready.  For example, we will need to know the day you were born. We also need to know any wedding dates and divorce dates. We will also need to know the date you last worked. Also, we will need to know the name, address, and phone number of your doctors.

For instance, the application asks basic information about your family and your children. Likewise, you will need your work history. Also, you will need to describe what job you did at each place you have worked in the last 15 years. The SSA needs to know this information in order to process your application.

If we can help you win your benefits, then we will represent you with no money down in your case. We only charge you an attorney fee if we win you your benefits. If we don’t win, you don’t pay an attorney fee.
