Cannon Disability Law helps hundreds of clients in California every year. Our clients live throughout California. For example, we represent many clients in Oakland, San Francisco, Sacramento and other California cities. Our goal is to win ongoing monthly SSDI and SSI benefits for you. Also, we will try to win any of your past due SSD benefits.

If the SSA denies your claim, our California attorneys will represent you in a hearing before an SSA judge. Each large California city has their own hearing office. We will prepare you for your hearing, so that you know what questions you will be asked. We will help you testify about your physical or mental condition. Also, we will go with you to your hearing. Learn about other cities we serve.

If you can no longer work due to your physical or mental health, then you need to replace your income. You need  help now. We can help you file your application for benefits online at Social Security’s website.

WE WILL HELP YOU FILE FOR CALIFORNIA DISABILITY BENEFITS

Our goal is to help you every step of the way and that includes filing your initial application in California. One of the most important things that comes with SSD and SSI benefits is health insurance. SSD benefits come with Medicare. Medicare starts after a 29 month waiting period. Find out more information about Medicare benefits.

Healthcare benefits are important. Because once you win benefits you must continue to go to the doctor. Because the SSA can review your case and decide you no longer meet their rules. If they decide you can return to work, they can take away your benefits.

If you hire us to represent you before the Social Security Administration, then we will help you appeal any SSA denials. Likewise, we will request a hearing for you. Find out more about your California SSD hearing.

One of the great things about living in California is that the state offers California state disability benefits.  These are the benefits you should apply for while you are waiting for your federal SSD benefits. Short term benefits may also be available through your employer. If you have private short term insurance benefits, you should also apply for federal benefits.

WE COLLECT MEDICAL RECORDS FOR YOUR SSD CASE

At Cannon Disability Law, we help you collect your medical records. Then, we make the best legal arguments to support your benefits claim. If you do not have insurance, we offer a free and low cost list of health resources in San Francisco.  Also, if you need to find a doctor we have a list of free medical resources throughout California.

Additionally, when you hire Cannon Disability, our legal team prepares you to testify in court. We will help you answer the judge’s questions. Likewise, we will show you how to why your illness prevents you from working.  When you start to apply for benefits, you need a law firm that has won thousands of SSD claims.

The SSA denies 70% of SSD and SSI claims. They often do so without taking into account the all of your conditions. Sometimes SSA does not review all of your medical records. That is why our law firm has been fighting the SSA’s decisions for over 30 years.

The SSA follows a five step process when they review your SSD case. We make sure the SSA follows their rules and fight against what we see as the unfair denials by the SSA. You need a team that is on your side every step of the way. Additionally, you need a legal team who will best present your case to the judge.

WHAT WE DO TO HELP YOU WIN SSD BENEFITS IN CALIFORNIA

You do not need to try to win SSDI and SSI benefits by yourself. Our law firm can help file your SSDI and SSI application. Also, we can help you appeal every SSA denial. That way, you can focus on your health. For example, our attorneys and staff can:

DON’T MISS THE SIX MONTH DEADLINE TO APPEAL

If you file your application for benefits online at Social Security’s website, then you have 6 months to complete the application. However, if you have a medical condition that automatically wins SSD benefits, you should file your application as soon as possible. Once you submit your application online, the SSA sends you an application summary in the mail. You must sign the summary and mail it back. Send it in quickly.

You are the person who must sign your own application. Even if a lawyer helps you file the application online, the SSA will send you a summary of the application. This will happen whether it is an SSD or SSI application. No one else can sign your application. You must do it so that the SSA knows you wish to file an application. We cannot sign an application for you. Your original signature is required.

Once you file your application, you may receive an initial denial. The SSA denies most applications. Therefore,  once you receive an SSA denial, you have 60 days to file an appeal. You must meet the time limit set by the SSA. If you do not, then you will have to start the process over again, by filing another application. That means you will lose any benefits you could receive on any prior application.
