SSA’s New Mental Health Listings

The SSA has published and new mental health listings in January 2017.  These listing effect all claimant’s alleging disability under any mental health listing.  Anyone who is alleging disability due to a mental health listing, such as Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorder, Anorexia, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or IQ issues, needs to be aware that the Social Security Administration has revamped the disability criteria for all mental health diagnosis. In particular, SSA has changed the criteria for determining how your mental disability prevents you from working and impacts your daily activities. If you are being treated for a mental health impairment that is preventing you from working, please be aware of the new regulations which will affect your case. Not understanding the law can make the difference between winning and losing benefits. Call us at 801-322-2121 or 1-800-732-2323 to see if you qualify for disability benefits under the new mental disability health regulations.
